How does the New Dimensions registration process work?
Everything starts on the MY ACCOUNT page. This is where you can set up an account, log in to your account, and (during times of open membership and registration) become a member and register for classes for the current term.
The basic steps are:
-
Make sure you have an account set up and know your password. If you already have an account and know your password, just log in on the MY ACCOUNT page. If you don't have an account, click the "sign up" link and set one up. If you have an account but don't know your password, click "forgot password?". This will send you an email with a link in it. Click that link and you will be shown your new password. Remember this password or write it down, as it will stay with you through all future terms (unless you reset it again).
-
Membership generally opens several days before class registration begins. You will receive one or more emails prior to the membership period, and the date and time that membership opens will be displayed in your MY ACCOUNT page. It's best to become a member prior to the class registration period, to save time when registration opens (which can give you a higher priority to get the classes you want).
-
As soon as class registration opens, you can click the link in your MY ACCOUNT page to get to the registration page and choose your classes.
In summary, the process is:
- Make sure you have an account and a password that you can log in with. Set this up and check it at any time.
- After classes are published, log in and pay for your membership for the term.
- After class registration opens, log in and select your classes. Register early in the registration period to increase your chances of getting into popular classes that are size-limited.
The New Dimensions password I have from a previous term no longer works.
Click the "forgot password?" link in the MY ACCOUNT page to get a new password. This new password will stay with you for all future terms, unless you reset it again using this "forgot password?" link. You can set up an account or reset your password at any time.
How do I JOIN for both myself and my spouse? We both want to register for classes.
If possible, use different email addresses for yourself and your spouse. If this is not possible, that's OK. You can use the same email address for multiple accounts, but a separate password will be issued for each account. Just LOG IN with the email address and password for the account you want to use to register, register that person, and LOG IN again with the password for the other account and register that person as well.
I registered for several classes, but when I received my class list by email, some of them were missing. What happened?
Most classes have a maximum limit. If a class is filled with members who requested the class as a high priority and also registered earlier than you, you may not get in but you will be put on a waiting list. Do not assume you are in a class until you receive your final schedule of classes.
How do I maximize my chances of getting into the classes I want?
Each member prioritizes their class requests. So for example, if you want a class with very limited spaces, you would prioritize it as #1 when you register. You continue prioritizing all of your class requests and for classes with no limits or classes with higher capacity, and you would give those a lower priority. After a class is filled with the highest priority requests, the system then automatically continues to fill the class by the date and time you registered for your classes. So, register early during the registration period and give a high priority to the size-limited classes that are most important to you.
Why are there multiple starting dates for some classes?
For classes with more than one starting date, you may choose any of the available starting dates. To increase your chances of making one of these classes, you may select more than one starting date. However, you will only be registered for the one that is available and has your highest priority.
