021 - Civics Education in D51 Schools
Some of us may vaguely remember a class in "Civics" when we were in junior or senior high school. Many of us have wondered what students are learning about government and the responsibilities of good citizenship today. This class is designed to help community members better understand civics education in our public schools. Participants will explore what is included in Colorado's Social Studies standards, particularly the civics standards. This class will deepen your understanding of how civics is taught across grade levels and how teachers are preparing students for an informed and engaged citizenship.   (Class limit:  50)
